Building 24 Category 3 Laboratory – Central Science Laboratory

Acting as Project Manager we employed Architectural and Structural Services as well as carrying out the full Mechanical and Electrical Design of the Category 3 Laboratory and changing facility, including installation of safety cabinets, autoclave, washing machines and water, electric and medical gases to laboratory benches. All in accordance with:

• Advisory Committee for Dangerous Pathoges Document (ACDP)
• Management, Design and Operation of Microbiological Containment Laboratoriesʼ 2001
• The Good Laboratory Practice Regulations 1999

Environmental Services Design were appointed by Accent Group in Autumn 2009 to provide design services for the extension of the One Life Hartlepool Scheme (completed in March 2010) to form a 24 hour Minor Injuries Unit. The Minor Injuries Unit was commissioned by the PCT due to the closure of the Accident and Emergency facilities within Hartlepool. The unit will treat cuts, bruises, breaks and sprains.
